The following is a brief biography of key staff members.

pointer Zack Tannery, President, CBB, MBA

Zachary Tannery

Zack Tannery graduated from Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Mr. Tannery started his career as a CPA in Public Accounting with Arthur Young & Company, now Ernst & Young. He then joined Haggar Apparel Company in Dallas, Texas, where he advanced to Vice President and Financial Controller during his eleven year tenure.

He formed Tannery & Company, a firm of Certified Public Accountants, in 1976 and merged this business in 1989 with Pannell Kerr Forester, a worldwide firm of certified public accountants. He was a consulting partner in the Dallas office of Pannell Kerr Forester after the businesses merged.

He brokered his first business in 1977 and has since been active in selling and buying businesses. He has sold numerous businesses of various sizes with transaction values up to $50 million.

In 1999, Zack became an Affiliate Member of Business Brokers Network and he is a Certified Business Broker. In 2006 he was named Vice President of Affiliate Services and in 2009 was named Director of Affiliate Training. His primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical and consulting services to Affiliate Members,
  • Oversight and program content for for Affiliate Member Training, and
  • Helping develop professional and effective Affiliate Member Business Brokers.

In September 2009, Zack assumed the additional title of President of Business Brokers Network. His duties include Director of Affiliate Training and he continues to provide technical and consulting services to Affiliate Member Business Brokers and helps develop strong and effective Member Brokers nationwide.

       Primary Focus: Recasting Financial Statements

  • Exit Strategy Specialist (ESS)
       Primary Focus: Locating Motivated Business Sellers.

  • Business Transfer Specialist (BTS)
       Primary Focus: The BBN Proven Process to Market and Sell Businesses - A Comprehensive Presentation

  • Business Documentation Specialist (BDS)
       Primary Focus: Effectively and Accurately Using Core BBN Selling and Marketing Documents

Requirements to Earn Certified Business Broker (CBB) Designation:

  • Participate in BBN's Training and Continuing Professional Education Program

  • Complete a Minimum Number of Business Valuations

  • Listed a Minimum Number of Businesses to Sell

  • Complete a Minimum Number of Business Closings

  • Comply with BBN's Affiliation Member Service Agreement

Requirements to Maintain Certified Business Broker (CBB) Designation:

  • Participate in BBN's Training and Continuing Professional Education Program for Experienced Affiliation Members

  • Complete a Minimum Number of Business Valuations Annually

  • Complete a Minimum Number of Business Closings Annually

  • Remain in Compliance with BBN's Affiliation Member Service Agreement
